Eleven of us started up the from the town of Natchez and rode 67 miles. By early afternoon the temp climbed to between 103 and 105 (depending on which vehicle was checked). The last 20 miles reminded me of the Hotter 'n Hell ride in Texas but the trace has trees that provide a rolling shade oasis.
The morning was very enjoyable as long as you kept moving and auto traffic was very light.
Historic markers along the route got us off our bikes so we could absorb some history.Tomorrow we ride the trace through Jackson and northwar
